The freshest tasting sushi on the east side of Cleveland. There prices aren't bad and I adore the temaki hand rolls especially

Pacific East in the Coventry location has been a Cleveland Heights and Case Western University staple for years. There is a variety of options in terms of Asian cuisine, with a decent quality and ambiance. Usually come here for some of the udon soups and nigiri

Pacific East has many vegan friendly options, with tons of veggie sushi (I recommend the shiitake) and many mains such as the mango tofu. The staff is always kind and they recently renovated their dining area.

Came to this location with a big group of coworkers just 2 weeks ago to celebrate a birthday and had a good time. The menu selection is HUGE and the lunch specials were great. Service was friendly and warm but a little slow. The portions were big and the presentation was very nice. I ordered the Hainanese chicken and while it really wasn't quite that, whatever came tasted good and there was plenty of it. The chicken wasn't quite as tender and juicy as it needs to be for this dish and the sauces that came were too sharp and not sweet and savory enough. The dishes my coworkers got all looked great!

I had a lovely dinner here about a year ago where I ordered some of the best Toro Tartar I've ever had in my life. That meal and ambiance for dinner was easily a 5 star experience. Today, a year later, I went back during $10 Coventry week and ordered a Toro Roll for carryout. Basically, I'm having the meal I had a year ago but in roll form. It was noon and during my 10 minute wait, there were a couple of diners and one other person waiting for their carryout. I looked inside the bag and was immediately a little disappointed honestly. The sushi pieces were a LOT smaller than I thought they would be!! For $10 (even more without the special), I was expecting big pieces. In order to redeem itself, the sushi had to be fantastic! Was it? Well, yes and no. Toro sushi consists of fatty tuna and roe, wrapped in rice with the seaweed wrapper on the inside. The fatty sushi was very fatty, as you can see the fat striations in the picture. The tuna was very tasty and indulgent. The rest of it was just fine. I would have liked more roe sprinkled within, personally. I do plan on coming back again one day to try their lunch specials. I'm a massive fan of ginger dressing salad and miso soup!

Pacific east is my go to place for sushi in Cleveland. As a sushi enthusiast, I was thrilled with the extensive menu offering a wide array of fresh, high-quality sushi options. From the classic favorites like the salmon nigiri and California rolls to the chef's signature creations, every bite was a burst of deliciousness. Their sushi has just the right balance of rice to filling! When dining in with a large group, the restaurant staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every detail of my dining experience was taken care of. For a quick and convenient option, I also opted for takeout on another occasion. I was pleasantly surprised by how well-packaged and fresh the sushi remained during transit.

I am thrilled with my visit to Pacific East for sushi, and I can't wait to come back. I came around lunch time on a Friday, but the restaurant wasn't very busy--which was nice, because the restaurant was quiet and peaceful, my server was attentive but not overbearing, and my food came out very quickly. I opted for the Bento Box C with takoyaki and shining soup, which turned out to be a tasty and very filling choice. Those sides were nothing special and I might try others next time, but the fish was absolutely delicious. Particularly, the yellowtail was very tasty with a light seat, and the tuna was of much higher quality than most other places' lunch specials. Overall, if you like sushi, Pacific East is absolutely worth a trip! And if on a budget, doubly so for their lunch specials!
